We were lucky during our stay in Orlando to meet a couple from Quebec who made our stay in Florida particularly unique. Diane and Daniel are two wonderful people who have become real traveling companions as well as Spyke their rottweiler, and their cats Tipuce and Sophie. With an incredible generosity and an unforgettable sense of humor, Diane and Daniel have suggested that we make a journey together and literally embark in their RV to discover the Keys and the region Of Tampa. View in 360° of the RV On the Road…  So it was with our French-speaking friends that we started our journey towards the southern tip of Florida. This paradisiac region bordered by Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Golf of Mexico on the other. The landscapes of the Keys, the white sandy beaches and the turquoise waters as far as the eye can see, in such good company, will leave amazing remembrance in our memories.
When we took this picture with our new Quebecois friends, we did not know that Daniel had a plan … the a happy end … Â thank you Daniel & Diane for this amazing night.
A must for a stay in Orlando: the theme park. Because of a lack of time we had to choose between the parks of Disney and those of Universal Studio. It is Universal that will eventually win because we still have the opportunity to visit the Disney park in California. Disappointed by some aspects (lack of conviviality and exorbitant price), we still kept a good memory of our day between the two parks Universal Studio and Universal Island of Adventure. Immersed in the different atmospheres of the fictional heroes who have lulled our childhood, it is full of nostalgia that we took advantage of this day. From Jurassic Park to Springfield and Hogwarts, the journey will have been surprising!
Just an overview of our garden in Lake Whippoorwill KOA Holiday, A heaven where i’v met a lot of news friends !!! Thx you KOA
The city of Savannah is particularly known for its historic downtown as well as its label of the oldest city in the United States. However, on the sidelines of Savannah’s undeniably rich history, we must assume that we were stunned by the lush environment of this region. Indeed, the coastal cities of the southeastern United States have this peculiarity of being dotted with small island landlocked by swamps. Skidaway Island is part of this surprising environment that we discovered in Georgia. With its very diverse vegetation due to the subtropical climate and its disturbing swamps, the landscape of this region is breathtaking. We had the pleasure of staying at the Skidaway Island State Park and enjoying this natural setting preserved by the rangers of the Natural Resources Department of Georgia. Skidaway is also the refuge of a particular heritage. Indeed, during the prohibition when the police were hunting moonshiners, the island of Skidaway, which was then accessible only by boat, was a particularly favorable place for the manufacture of moonshine. Nowadays, liquor stills can still be found on the island that would have been forgotten or abandoned. Thanks to the trails that crosses the park and which are maintained by […]
Our stay in South Carolina was especially marked by an unforgettable encounter. That of a charming woman and her delightful family. In a very improbable way a short discussion in a Yemassee campground gave birth to a sincere friendship and an evident respect. Charlotte Holmes Murray is a woman with undeniable talent for painting and true generosity. She made our stay in South Carolina particularly sweet and pleasant. Thanks to her we discovered the riches of her region and the kindness of her family. Charlotte is an artist who also shares her passion with students of all ages. In her beautiful painting studio she welcomed us and presented her work and her home. Charlotte is also very attached to the city of Paris and we were stunned and charmed by her different artistic representations of our very dear city of origin. This exchange with Charlotte and her family will remain forever in our memories and in our hearts.
The landscape of Charleston and its region is both surprising and enigmatic. Indeed one may remains amazed over the swampy areas where alligators and different species of birds meet, while remaining subjugated by the very mysterious atmosphere of its forests dotted with “Spanish moss”. Worn by the wind in search of moisture, this parasitic plant clings to the branch of all the trees it crosses on its way, giving a particularly strange and fascinating appearance to the environment of South Carolina. We were lucky during our stay in the Charleston area to be able to caught this enigmatic atmosphere in a memorable site where appear the ruins of a church built in 1745. Old Sheldon Church is completely out of time. Also known as Prince William’s Parish, this church was destroyed and rebuilt twice between 1779, during the War of Independence, and 1865. Its large masonry and red-brick colones will have been resistant to fires and time to be part of the historic legacy of South Carolina.
The city of Charleston, located in South Carolina on the Atlantic coast, is a particularly warm city not only because of its humid subtropical climate but thanks to the friendliness of its residents. Indeed, the city of Charleston was ranked as the most welcoming city in the world in 2016 according to readers of the magazine CN Traveler. The quality of our stay confirms the pole position of this city within this ranking. As demonstrated this evening spent in a charming restaurant located in the heart of Charleston. With delicious mediterranean influences, the Tabbuli restaurant represents all the generosity of this city and its residents. With an air of an oasis in the heart of Charleston, the Tabbuli is a paradisiac place lined with palm tree lit in soft and warm colors. Group of friends and couples come to share a meal or a hookah around the central fountain under the sky of Charleston. The very welcoming and friendly staff seduced us as much as the unique setting of this restaurant.
